This is a sketch from a freeze frame of the Argylle movie trailer.

A few years ago I did a doodle of the model/actress/writer Emily Ratajkowski. I posted it on my Instagram account and due to the perfect alignment of the stars, planets, and whatever else had to fall into place, she re-posted it on her own Instagram account. All of a sudden I got a ton of notice from that small gesture on her part. I remember being pretty stoked by it, but it was quickly replaced by an unexpected visit I had to make to the dentist--a painful visit that was. As I mentioned before, that was quite some time ago, as I presume she probably doesn't do that sort of thing anymore. I've always appreciated the thumbs up by her. If you ever read this, thanks Emily!

I'm not a gamer, so I've never played the The Last Of Us video game. As a TV series on HBO, the first episode was really good. For me, who is not familiar the lore of the game, there was this unknowing dread in the first half (followed by a heart-breaking moment) that was so effective; It left me with high hopes for what's to come. This sketch is a nod to Pedro Pascal who stars on the show.

Earl Boen was an ubiquitous character actor I'd see when I was a kid watching TV. He will always be remembered as the reoccurring Doctor Peter Silberman in the Terminator film series. His character never really provided much psychiatrical help to Sarah Conner, but Earl's portrayal of the Doctor was a blast. RIP.

Happy Wednesday. It the first Wednesday of 2023, and to celebrate I present to you my first doodle of the year, Wednesday Addams. It's another first: my first time using the Timelapse feature in Clip Studio Paint. It's super easy! To start, just scroll down to Timelapse on the File menu and select Record timelapse. Once you're done with your illustration, save your document (try to remember to Save periodically), and then stop recording. You have the choice of saving a 15 second, 30 second, or All. You can also save in various pixel sizes and raster sizes as well as. The file it creates is an mp4. The above time-lapse is 30 seconds. Now if I can only draw that fast in real life--imagine how much I could accomplish. Thanks to Jenny Ortega from the Netflix series Wednesday for being such an excellent test subject.

I'm incredibly fascinated by these two legendary talents. As an improve duo during the 60's they paved they way for future comedians with their witty, irreverent brand of observational humor. After they disbanded, Nichols continued on as a brilliant director (The Graduate, Carnal Knowledge), and May as an actress and writer. Years later the two teamed up to make the phenomenal American remake of The Birdcage with Robin Williams -- directed by Nichols; screen-written by May.

I'm a big fan of the Acid Jazz group Jamiroquai. A lot of time I'll listen to music while doodling. This pencil sketch was inspired by the song Cosmic Girl off the album Traveling Without Moving: It's one of my favorite Jamiroquai albums. Often I'll doodle an idea, and then just move from it, but here I wanted to take it to the next level by a moving to digital. What really ties this to Jamiroquai is the head dress on the celestial woman. Jay Kay, the band's front man, wore it as an iconic emblem during the release of the album.
